ART & FIX (“we”, “us”, “our”) runs a phone, tablet and computer repair shop at 1034 W. 18th Street, Merced, CA 95340, and the website artnfix.com. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and the choices and rights you have, including your rights under California law.
Effective date: October 18, 2026
Information we collect
Information you give us. When you fill out a form on our website, call, text, email or visit the shop, we may collect:
- Your name, phone number and email address
- Your device make, model and a description of the problem
- Messages you send us and details of your repair (quotes, work done, warranty)
- Payment details at the shop. Card payments are handled by our payment processor; we do not store full card numbers.
Information collected automatically. When you browse our website, we and our service providers collect standard technical data such as your IP address, browser and device type, pages visited, the site that referred you, and approximate location (city level). This is done with cookies and similar technologies (see “Cookies and analytics” below).
Data on devices you bring in for repair
To repair and test a device, our technicians may need to turn it on and briefly use basic functions (for example the screen, camera, speakers or charging). We do not open, copy, keep or share your photos, messages, accounts or other personal files. If we need your passcode to test a repair, we use it only for that repair and do not keep it after the job is done. We recommend backing up your device before any repair, as some repairs can result in data loss.
How we use your information
- To answer your questions, give quotes and book repairs
- To carry out repairs, contact you about status and honor our warranty
- To process payments and keep business and tax records
- To improve our website and services and understand how visitors use the site
- To protect our website and business from fraud, spam and abuse
- To comply with the law
We do not send marketing text messages. If you contact us by text, we only reply about your request or repair.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share information only with service providers who help us run our business, under agreements that limit their use of it:
- Website hosting and email (Hostinger)
- Website analytics (Google Analytics)
- Maps and reviews shown on our site (Google Maps, Google reviews)
- Payment processing at the shop
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights or safety, or as part of a sale or transfer of the business.
Cookies and analytics
Our website uses cookies, which are small files stored by your browser. We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site, for example which pages are popular. Google Analytics collects data such as pages visited and device type using cookies. You can learn how Google uses this data at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites and opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work.
Embedded Google Maps and Google reviews are loaded from Google and may set their own cookies under Google’s privacy policy.
How long we keep information
We keep repair and customer records for as long as needed to provide the service and warranty, and to meet tax and legal requirements, usually no longer than 3 years after your last repair. Website form messages are kept for up to 2 years. Analytics data is kept according to our Google Analytics settings (up to 14 months).
How we protect information
Our website uses encryption (HTTPS), and access to customer information is limited to staff who need it. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.
Your California privacy rights
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the CPRA, gives you the right to:
- Know what personal information we have collected about you, where it came from, why we use it and who we share it with
- Access a copy of your personal information
- Delete personal information we collected from you, subject to legal exceptions
- Correct inaccurate personal information
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information.
- Limit the use of sensitive personal information. We do not use sensitive personal information for purposes that require this right.
- Not be discriminated against for using any of these rights

Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track. We do not sell or share personal information, and we honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals as an opt-out request where the law requires it. Our site does not respond differently to “Do Not Track” browser signals.
Children’s privacy
Our website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 online. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
