How to Prepare Your Phone Before a Repair

How to Prepare Your Phone Before a Repair

A few minutes of preparation protects your photos and personal information and helps the repair go faster. Use this checklist before you bring your phone to ART & FIX.

1. Back up your phone

Back up to iCloud or Google, or to your computer. Most repairs do not touch your data, but a backup means you never have to worry.

2. Write down your passcode or be ready to share it

We need to test the screen, cameras, speakers, and charging after the repair. If you prefer not to share your passcode, let us know and we will test what we can with you at pickup.

3. Know your Apple ID or Google account password

Some repairs and tests may ask you to sign in. Make sure you know your account password before you come in.

4. Remove the case and screen protector

Bring the phone without a bulky case. If you want to keep the screen protector, tell us so we can handle it carefully.

5. Take out your SIM card if you like

This is optional, but it is a simple way to keep your number with you during the repair.

6. Note every problem

Write down everything that is wrong, even small things such as a weak speaker or a slow charge. We can check it all at the same time.

7. Call or text before you come

Our service is appointment-based. Call or text us first so we can confirm availability and have the right part ready for your model. You can also send your device model and problem through our contact form.
